Poster

From this poster, we can see some working farmers, tractor, ruderal grass and so on.
Let me example some questions i found before with my group.
1)Where will the pigs transfer to?
I got two different ideas, one is--maybe the pigs will be transfer to the market for sale. Second one is maybe cause few of the pigs in the cage are sick. And the farmers don't want other pigs infected. So they try to transfer other pigs to a new home.
2)How to transfer the pigs?
The farmers need to use tractor to transfer the pigs, cause they are too heavy. People can not only use their hands to transfer them.
3)Why are the ruderal(a kind of grass) only grew on the corner?
I think maybe the reason: those unfree pigs ate other ruderal all, cause they're unfree, and maybe no food to eat.(cause they were abandoned.)The only thing to keep on living is try to eat the ruderal all.
4)Why are the ruderal not be cleaned?
I guess maybe all these pigs are sick pigs or dead pigs. Maybe because the plague make farmers have to give up those pigs. And the farmers are trying to leave here. So the ruderal are not be cleaned.

Poster: 50 ways to kill a cockroach

How to kill a cockroach
So this is the final outcome of our ways to kill the cockroachand i try to pick some --which were most interesting and those ways that were not heard of before on killing cockroaches. First is using a cake mixer to kill it

Try to hit it multiple times with a guitar.
Fling it to a wall fan until it meets its untimely death.
To feed it to a venus fly trap (apparently people have seen that before)

Tony Fadell

                                              Summary

Tony Fadell said: People are usually accustomed to the phenomenon, sometimes "used to" makes life more convenience. For example:" When we try to learn to drive, at beginning your attention only care bout the cars, the lights, the pedestrians. That we couldn't even talk to anyone else in the car and couldn't even listen to music. As the weeks went by, driving became easier and easier. You habituated it. It started to become fun and second nature. And then, you could talk to your friends again and listen to music." (Said from Tony Fadell)But it also let us think the world is what we think are, for example," The self-adhesive label on the fruits, we have to dig out it, and sometimes it will hurt our nails. But nobody wants to change that."
In the Apple company, Steven Jobs wants to challenge his employee. Use the customer's point, (especially the new customer) to try something new. Tony made a example,"I remember this clearly in the very earliest days of the iPod.  Back in the '90s,being a gadget freak like I am, I would rush out to the store for the very, very latest gadget. I'd take all the time to get to the store, I'd check out, I'd come back home, I'd start to unbox it. And then, there was another little sticker: the one that said, "Charge before use."And almost every electronic product back then did that in the 90's.  So the Apple company  try to break that rules. " We could make a higher quality product, be easy to test, and make sure it was great for the customer. But most importantly, the battery came fully charged right out of the box, ready to use. So that customer, with all t'hat exhilaration, could just start using the product. It was great, and it worked. People liked it." No more "Charge before use".
So he thought the first secret of design is "against with the human natural--accustomed to the phenomenon." He gives us three points:

  1)Look broader  2)Look closer 3)think younger

And finally he said:We all saw the world more clearly when we saw it for the first time, before a lifetime of habits got in the way. Our challenge is to get back there, to feel that frustration, to see those little details, to look broader, look closer, and to think younger so we can stay beginners.

Journal 4

                                                WEEK

At this Sunday morning, I went to the Chinatown, it's my first time to been here. In my opinion this place just like the old Macao.(a city from China)And there are lots of Chinese architectures, Chinese restaurants, Chinese tolls, Chinese drugs and Chinese people in here. This place make me feel warm, cause i am a Chinese, and here just looks similar to China. I like here very well.
This henna tattoo has been drew by a fine arts student in our school day, although it's not very beautiful in my mind, it's only one dollar for each. Just having it for fun.
In the last Friday, our visual arts group tried to find some places very old in Singapore. Than we found this church--named Chijmes. This church is almost 159 years old!!! It's appearance like the old European style. Although it's not opening today, you can see it's so empty here. It's still looks very beautiful and grand, and we took a lots of photos of this church.

Summary

                                  Where good ideas come from?

In this Ted talk, Mr. Steven Johnson give us a example--"If you were drinking all day, and then you switched from a depressant to a stimulant in your life, you would have better ideas."And the architecture of the space is also very important. Also need many people who have different background, to get together and share their own ideas.

Those five important vocabularies we need try to understand them, and "you have to do away with a lot of the way in which our conventional metaphors and language steers us towards certain concepts of idea-creation. "
We always take the idea from other peoples,we stitch them together into new forms, and we create something new.
And he tried to use a example about Darwin, he had the idea and the concept, but was unable of fully thinking it yet. And that is actually how great ideas often happen.

At the end of video, he told a history of GPS positioning system in the world. The ideas for innovation are coming from accidental events. And it also needs to discuss and exchange our thinking with other people. Innovation needs a kind of exploration to get the ideas of life.
"That is how innovation happens. Chance favors the connected mind."

Journal 3

                                           Journal

This is my new hat and i bought it from Bugis at weekend morning. Although it looks just like a cat, actually it's a famous cartoon character from "Chinchilla"(a Japanese cartoon movie by Miyazaki) Than i try to touch it, it's so so so so so soft and warm!!! I think i can wear it to keep warm when i during my class.(Cause our class room is too cold!!!)

The second photo i have been taken it from a library beside our school, there are so many Chinese books at here! I like reading so much. But in Singapore, too much English reading make me can't understand very clearly. I will try to visit here every week.

As we all know, the game--Pokemon go is release in Singapore. And our school (NAFA)is one of the Pokemon geographical distributions!!!!Almost all of my friends started to play it. Enjoy us and go for catch them!

Those two i took them from our school library, and the learning atmosphere is so great in here! Everyone is working so hard. Here make me know--nobody can casually succeed, it comes from the
thorough self-control and the will. I need to study right now!

Breaking the rules

         Breaking the rules

Those five designs that i think can be break the rules. The first picture is a handbag from Coco Channel.(Designed by Karl Largerfeld, 2016 new arrival--Gaming series)

It's looks just like a dice in the casino. And now this handbag becomes very popular, many famous stars start to bring it on some fashion shows. I think it can be so much popular cause people like gambling maybe?

The second design is a handbag from Maschion (Designed by Jeremy Scott, 2014 summer). This one can break the rules cause it looks like a big cup of cola from McDonald's. It's very different from other handbags.

And it's a composition from Moschino too, designed by Jeremy Scott,2014 summer. This one is a phone case, but the shell just like a cigarette, looks very interesting.

This one designed by Gwen Murphy, the shoes just look like two strange faces. It seems very funny.

The last one is a shoe who designed by Andreia Chaves. He used glass to finish it. It's totally can be an art work.
